About Foreign Native Interior Design

Enamored and driven by Savannah’s distinctive aesthetic, fusing historic tradition, eclectic global modernism, and a relaxed Lowcountry vibe, Sylvia Skylar, Principal at Foreign Native Interiors, creates beautiful and thought-provoking spaces that narrate her Clients’ story. 

While splitting her time between Los Angeles and Savannah for the last ten years, Sylvia served as Senior Designer for the 'Architectural Digest 100' and 'Elle Décor A-list' firm of Timothy Corrigan Inc., Los Angeles. Working on three different continents, she led an exciting bevy of projects, including an 18,000 sq ft celebrity-owned Beverly Hills ground-up renovation, recently featured on the cover of Architectural Digest, an opulent Paris pied-a-terre for a Middle-Eastern Royal family, an exclusive NYC high-rise apartment, and a luxury yacht in Asia. She received design credit for the industry-renowned 2023 Kip's Bay Showhouse in Manhattan. 

In addition to remodeling and restoring her own, oft historic, investment properties, Sylvia has worked extensively with architects and contractors to create one-of-a-kind spaces for her Clients. She utilizes her knowledge of architectural and building standards, and expert space planning to offer complete renovation design services. A member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Sylvia maintains a vast network of valued industry vendors to best serve her clientele. 

Sylvia is well versed in a broad range of interior styles. This flexibility enables her to provide a client-centered approach to the design process, while offering creative innovation, and maintaining a systems-based structure to every project.
